During our life, the musculoskeletal system goes through a lot It is used intensively and has to adapt to highly variable conditions in everyday life. Injuries to the musculoskeletal system are very common. Usually, incorrect posture, strain or tension are major causes. These complaints may also result from a musculoskeletal abnormality or a chronic condition such as rheumatism or osteoarthritis.

Pain can have many causes and can take many forms. Moreover, pain is very individual. Pain is physical, however, it can also be emotional. Fear, stress, or sadness can aggravate pain. Joy, happiness, or good company can ease pain. 


Types of pain: 

1. Acute and subacute pain have an obvious cause for the pain. Examples include pain after trauma, accident or surgery, pain due to degenerative diseases such as rheumatism, arthritis, ...  Pain is a type of alarm bell indicating that something is going wrong in the body.


2. Chronic pain occurs after trauma or surgery, however, after recovery, the complaint does not disappear completely. There was an identifiable cause for the pain, yet the pain is still partially or no longer there. The pain is no longer related to the severity of the trauma. Sometimes the pain takes on a life of its own and no longer has any function. Then the pain can be considered as a disease in its own right.


Why Acupuncture? 

Traditionally, acupuncture has played a significant role in treating acute and chronic pain conditions.
